Confidențialitate
Discrio nu are conturi. Nu ai ce să-ți creezi: fără număr de telefon, fără email, fără nume de utilizator. Nimic de aici nu te identifică, pentru că nu se strânge nimic despre tine.
Ce nu se colectează niciodată
- Fără nume, număr de telefon, email sau nume de utilizator.
- Fără agendă. Aplicația nu îți cere contactele și nu le citește niciodată.
- Fără statistici, fără reclame, fără urmăritori din afară. Aplicația nu conține niciun cod al altcuiva.
- Fără conținutul mesajelor. Mesajele se criptează pe telefonul tău și se decriptează pe al celuilalt. Nimic dintre cele două nu le poate citi.
Ce ține releul
Mesajele trec printr-un server pe drumul dintre două telefoane. El ține:
- Blocuri de date criptate, fiecare de exact 8192 de octeți, așa că mărimea lor nu spune nimic despre ce ai scris.
- O adresă aleatorie pentru fiecare sens al fiecărei conversații, legată de nicio persoană și de nicio altă adresă.
- Blocurile se șterg în clipa în care sunt ridicate și oricum expiră după 21 de zile. Adresele unei conversații dispar după 90 de zile de tăcere.
- Numărători pe oră — câte blocuri, câte poze, câte adrese au trecut — păstrate 90 de zile. Cifre despre toată lumea deodată; nimic din ele nu numește o adresă, un telefon sau o persoană.
Nu există tabel de utilizatori, nici evidență a cine vorbește cu cine. Nu e nimic acolo de predat cuiva.
Ce vede releul oricum
Exact ce rămâne:
- Adresele IP. Orice server vede de unde vine o conexiune. Jurnalul de acces e oprit — dar „alegem să nu înregistrăm" e o politică, nu o garanție matematică. Dacă ai nevoie să ascunzi până și faptul că folosești Discrio, folosește un VPN sau Tor.
- Momentul. Releul știe când a sosit un bloc și când a fost ridicat.
Notificări
Dacă pornești notificările, releul ține un jeton Apple ca să poată spune telefonului tău să se trezească. Notificarea în sine e o constantă — aceleași două cuvinte pentru fiecare mesaj, de la fiecare utilizator: „Mesaj nou". Apple află că un dispozitiv a fost trezit și când. Apple nu află cine ți-a scris, nici ce.
Notificările se pot opri. Atunci mesajele apar când deschizi aplicația.
Poze
O poză se criptează pe telefonul tău cu o cheie care călătorește în interiorul mesajului criptat. Releul ține fișierul criptat completat până la una din cinci mărimi fixe și îl șterge după aceleași reguli ca mesajele. Nu poate fi deschis de cineva care nu are deja mesajul.
Pe telefonul tău
Conversațiile se păstrează criptate. Cheia se face din parola ta și stă în Keychain-ul iOS, marcată așa încât să nu părăsească niciodată telefonul și să nu intre în nicio copie de siguranță.
Dacă îți uiți parola, conversațiile sunt pierdute. Nu există recuperare, pentru că nu păstrăm nimic din care s-ar putea reface.
Copii
Discrio nu se adresează copiilor.

Dacă politica asta se schimbă, versiunea nouă apare pe pagina asta, cu data ei.

Privacy
Discrio has no accounts. There is nothing to sign up for: no phone number, no email address, no username. Nothing here identifies you, because nothing about you is ever collected.
What is never collected
- No name, phone number, email address or username.
- No address book. The app never asks for your contacts and never reads them.
- No analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers. The app contains no third-party SDKs of any kind.
- No message content. Messages are encrypted on your phone and decrypted on the other phone. Nothing in between can read them.
What the relay holds
Messages travel through a relay server on their way between two phones. It holds:
- Blocks of encrypted data, every one of them exactly 8192 bytes, so their size says nothing about what was written.
- A random address for each direction of each conversation, tied to no person and to no other address.
- Blocks are deleted the moment they are collected, and in any case expire after 21 days. A conversation's addresses are removed after 90 days of silence.
- Hourly counts of how many blocks, attachments and addresses passed through, kept for 90 days. Numbers over everyone at once; nothing in them names an address, a device, or a person.
There is no user table, no account record, and no record of who talks to whom. There is nothing there to hand over.
What the relay cannot avoid seeing
Being exact about what is left:
- IP addresses. Any server sees where a connection comes from. Access logging is switched off — but "we choose not to log" is a policy, not a mathematical guarantee. If you need to hide that you use Discrio at all, use a VPN or Tor.
- Timing. The relay knows when a block arrived and when it was collected.
Notifications
If you turn notifications on, the relay keeps one Apple push token so it can tell your phone to wake up. The notification itself is a constant — the same two words for every message, from every user: "New message". Apple learns that a device was woken, and when. Apple does not learn who wrote to you, or what they wrote.
Notifications can be turned off. Messages then arrive when you next open the app.
Photos
A photo is encrypted on your phone with a key that travels inside the encrypted message. The relay stores the encrypted file padded up to one of five fixed sizes, and deletes it on the same schedule as messages. It cannot be opened by anyone who does not already have the message.
On your phone
Conversations are stored encrypted. The key is derived from your passphrase and kept in the iOS Keychain, marked so that it never leaves the device and is never included in a backup.
If you forget your passphrase, the conversations are gone. There is no recovery, because nothing is kept from which they could be rebuilt.
Children
Discrio is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with its date.
